Our DCS dual install kit comes with everything you need to install yourself at home.
Including:
Firstly, you’ll need to disconnect and remove old batteries
Once all batteries have been removed, place one of your DCS batteries in each side to make sure it’s going to fit nicely. Then mark a hole on each side of the battery in the centre roughly 10mm from the edge of battery, do this in both battery locations & then remove batteries.
Drill a 7mm hole in each location that a hole is marked, place the rubber matting where each battery is going to be placed and then put the hold down poles for the battery clamps in each hole. You may need a second person to help lift the battery in and to place the battery clamp on and tighten to the poles so that the poles don’t fall through the holes.
Now that batteries are secure you can mount the Unilug Two Up’s. Use the supplied bolts to mount the terminal lug onto the batteries & tighten. Then place the main Unilug unit onto the terminal lug and tighten. Repeat this for all 4 terminals. (Terminal lugs will only fit terminal they are supplied with)
After all lugs and terminals have been mounted, you can start to lay the cable in to its spot. After cables have been routed and secured, connect your negative cable to each battery first on the negative Unilug. Then connect the positive cable to both batteries on the positive Unilug.
Once the batteries have both been connected in parallel via the linking cables you can re-connect the factory car harness.
Lastly run the supplied 6 B&S cable to the rear area of your car. Mount the battery protect unit securely and screw its supplied earth cable to a metal part of the car within 100mm – 150mm of the Battery Protect unit. Connect the lug to the “IN” side of the battery protect.
Once the Battery Protect is connected you can connect the cable to the supplied fuse holder and then connect the fuse holder to the positive Unilug terminal.
Once the circuit is powered up, jump onto the Victron Connect App and connect to your Battery Protect. Go to the top right corner and click on the settings icon. Then in “preset” change it to “User Defined.” Program the “restart” function to 13.0 V and the “shut down” function to 12.8 V.
Once all batteries are installed and Battery Protect is programmed then connect all auxiliary appliances to the “OUT” side of the Battery Protect and earth each appliance out to the body / chassis of vehicle.
